China.

It’s one of the biggest players not only in Asia, but on a global scale, it’s the number two economy. Over the past year, we’ve seen Chinese President Xi Jinping go after so-called tigers and other influential individuals said to be abusing their position. China has also continued to exert force at home in Xinjiang and across the South China Sea, where it’s encroached on competing territorial claims. Then there’s the whole matter of the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong.

To say there’s a lot going on in China, would be an understatement. Mark Cozad, Senior Defense Policy Analyst with the RAND Corporation joins me on the podcast this week to cover these topics and more.
